Warranty Information


Lifetime Manufacturer’s Warranty: This is a non-transferable lifetime warranty. Security Shutter Ltd and it’s partners will warranty certified products from defects in material for the entirety of time it is installed in it’s original locations by us. The lifetime warranty of our product is limited to the following parts of the shutter systems: panel (hood), curtain, end slat, and guide rails. 

All moving parts are warranted for one year from the date of install, or date the product was originally invoiced on supply only orders. Electric operators and electronic equipment are guaranteed for five years with the exception of damages caused by faulty or improper wiring by owners or other forces. 



Security Shutter Ltd. Warrants our own roll shutter installations against defects in workmanship for 1 year. We will agree to repair or replace any items found to be defective due to faulty workmanship within the one year period following the successful installation and operation of the shutter. We reserve the right to inspect any damaged part or equipment failure in order to certify that these concerns, as expressed in the warranty claim, are a direct result from an issue(s) during installation.



  • Following the one year from install, or original invoice, the Service Call Fee will apply, regardless of any warranted parts/labour/kilometres.
  • Any damaged products that were not reported at time of delivery or installation, or identified as faulty or defective immediately upon detection.
  • Damages caused by improper use or abuse. Accidents, defects or failure of the mounting medium, a resonating structure,  vandalism, war and acts of God. Materials or chemicals present in the vicinity causing damage.
  • Faulty installation by the contractor or owner due to failure to follow installation instructions available on securityshutter.ca, for each product; will cause all warranties, expressed or implied, including all implied warranties of merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose, to be null and void.
  • Any Emergency Service Call Fee is NOT covered under warranty, and is non-negotiable, regardless of any warranted parts/labour/kilometres.
  • The addition or removal of parts from the shutter, that cause the shutter to fail or function improperly.
  • Incorrect wiring, or wiring the motors in series causing the motors to fail.
  • Any unauthorized changes to the products during the one year installation warranty period by a person other than Security Shutter Ltd.
  • Any scheduled or preventative maintenance of the product.


Security Shutter will make every effort to fulfill the warranty claim in a proficient and timely manner. No other warranties or obligations, either spoken, implied, or expressed are valid. The purchaser will not have the authority to request any other type of reimbursement not indicated as a warranty item.



Warranty claims must be submitted immediately upon detection of such defects that are cause for warranty claim. A Warranty Claim Form must be filled out along with proper supporting documents and attachments.  

You will allow access during normal business hours, to the area the shutter is located. Someone of the age of 18 must be present to authorize any warranty work and confirm that the work is completed, and the shutter is functioning in compliance with the original intent of the product supplied, and in agreement with the needs of the customer.

If the originally purchased product was sold on “supply only” terms, or when Security Shutter Ltd. has not installed the shutter it will be the responsibility of the purchaser, or persons making the claim to purchase the product anew from Security Shutter Ltd. If the claim for warranty is approved by Security Shutter Ltd. we will refund the new order in accordance with the warranty of the originally purchased product. Please be advised that any warranty claims may take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to process.
